Your role :
Customer-facing sales team representative working with an Account Manager / Partner Manager focused on specific accounts addressed by the Sales hub.
Perform technical tasks, including written proposals, network design and engineering and quotes. Must be able to communicate solutions to regional Tier-2 / 3 and Enterprise customers and channel partners and manage ongoing technical relationship.
Also work with internal Ciena organization to drive product requirements and provide customer feedback to product management.
Allround engineer with a strong IP Expertise and optical transmission skills paired with an understanding of SW Automation.
Network and applications engineering for CIENA products
Consult with potential and current customers on application of CIENA products for next generation architectures
Complete network designs for customer application of CIENA networking products
Drive introduction of new concepts / features into customer networks
Influence Customer requirements and translate high-level customer requirements into Ciena system requirements
Expertise in use of CIENA network design and modelling tools
Prepare quotations and assist in proposal preparation for all CIENA products using internal tools
Provide product and technical expertise to support Sales efforts of transmission, switching and data products
Prepare design and applications presentations
Prepare design packs for Services & customers.
Review quotes, RFx's, Product presentations and forecasts
Serve as a senior technical resource for customer related issues
Interface with sales group and product management / marketing to develop and / or propose product enhancements to meet customer requirements
Act as the first-line support Go-To person for allocated sales opportunities within allocated accounts and Channels
Technical knowledge in data networking including understanding of IP / Ethernet and it's data networking protocols (MPLS, SR, EVPN, ISIS, OSPF and OAM)
Technical expertise in fibre optic transmission systems (OTN / WDM), telecommunication networks and network management systems
Software Automation and Northound APIs
Exhibit a high degree of presentation, interpersonal and communications skills
Proven ability to work in a team oriented environment, taking on-board round table discussions on solution architecture
Mentor other Systems Engineers
Ability to respond to RFP’s and communicate technical quotations accurately
General knowledge of computers and application programs (e.g. MS Office)
Flexible, able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Highly motivated technical individual that desires to work on application of advanced transport architectures
The ability to demonstrate leadership in technical sales activities
Ability to understand customer needs and use technical expertise to develop customer solutions
Ability to develop customer relationships and work well with customers
Flexible individual that is able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Technical Degree, BSEE or equivalent
5-7 years telecommunication industry experience
Prior experience as a contributor on a sales account team
