Your tasks :
Works with business units and functions globally to identify information and analytics needs; consults with them on how to best support their data use through the effective adoption of technology
Defines data analytics use cases and manages respective projects together with business units and IT organization
Acts as product owner and sets the strategic vision and roadmap; prioritizes the features for development for data analytics projects
Coordinates implementation projects by introducing new analytics / optimization features
Contributes to the development of data-driven business models specifically designed to create additional business value by extracting, refining and ultimately capitalizing on data
Consults internal and external customers with regards to supply chain optimization; defines digital components for supply chain optimization
Establishes and manages data analytics stakeholder network; ensures proper communication across the network
Your profile :
Outstanding university degree in a related technical / mathematical / business discipline or equivalent professional experience
Several years track record in professional organizations with an emphasis on (digital) strategy, business / marketing intelligence, consulting, or related experience
Strong communication skills on management level as well as operational level
Knowledge and understanding of the discipline, methodology, and practices of change management, strong conceptual skills and innovation attitude
Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into quantitative analyses and insights as well as understanding of IT (e.
g. databases and data structures) and data analysis (preferably using e.g. R, Python, C++). Passion to learn new technologies and analytical methodologies
Knowledge of operations research and machine learning methods preferred as well as knowledge of the logistics & transportation industry preferred
Clear and succinct verbal and written communication in English and German, strong presentation skills, global mindset and high level of cultural sensitivity

The Global Data Strategy & Analytics department is on a mission to turn DB Schenker into a data-driven company. The Business Consultant Data is part of a team of Consultants, Data Scientists, Operations Research Specialists and Big Data Engineers that work in close cooperation with internal Business Units and IT to define DB Schenker's data strategy, develop data-centric business models, consult business owners regarding data analytics potential and conduct related analytics projects, accumulate expertise on Big Data related tools and techniques, and manage the internal and external (partner) network.
He / she directly reports to the Director Business Consulting Data Analytics.
