Position Description :

This position is located in Bonndorf Baden Württemberg.

Development position for future potential P&L role within Dunkermotoren (DKM). The position will be focused on growing the largest business unit within the Advanced Motion Solutions (AMS) division.

Responsibility for multiple functions such as Quality Management, EHS, IT, and the MAE and EGS business units and the integration of all future mergers and acquisitions.

A well-versed and knowledgeable business partner who will provide supervision, management, and guidance to these functions.

Competent leader able to provide guidance that enhances performance in a manner that incorporates the overall vision and culture of AMETEK and AMS.


  • Directly responsible for Quality Management, EHS, IT, and all current / future M&As, including integration.
  • Act as an immediate stand-in for DVP / Business Unit Manager, prospectively successor to DVP / Business Unit Manager position.
  • Conduct due diligence initiatives and constantly looking for areas / markets to expand the business.
  • Create and oversee preparation and maintenance of annual operating budget.
  • Assist with the development of the strategic plan to execute against business goals. Functional areas would include Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, and Finance.
  • Bridge gaps between functional teams.
  • Build efficient collaboration with operational project stakeholders in business and IT.
  • Interface separate legal entities and business units with headquarters in Bonndorf.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with area leaders, create a unified force, and thoroughly cooperate to further intensify alignment and synergy.
  • Execute monthly sales and shipments as well as new orders for the assigned business.
  • Provide resources necessary to grow the business according to the yearly plan while maintaining financial commitments.
  • Develop and execute marketing plan.
  • Ensure organizational goals are being met.
  • Support production and supply chain management including purchasing, supplier negotiation, machine shop, shipping, and logistics.
  • Improve product development processes by incorporating design for Six Sigma.
  • Lead factory performance improvement projects by executing Lean manufacturing initiatives such as SIOP, 5S and Kaizen.
  • Participation in the introduction of new technologies and production methods, driving change management, and accomplishing change through implementation / acceptance of ownership for new processes.
  • Act as quality manager as it relates to quality systems issues and audits.
  • Drive inventory reduction and manage maintenance of controls and fiscal spending.

  • Motivate and retain top talent, develop staff to build a team environment to achieve sales targets while providing excellent customer service.
  • Lead employees to meet organizational expectations for productivity, quality, and goals.
  • Employee management including performance management, HR development, and agreement of objectives.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and discipline with assistance from Human Resources, when necessary.
  • Position Requirements :


  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • P&L responsibility in coordination with the DVP / Business Unit Manager
  • Track record of successful project management leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives with, and without, direct authority.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid financial and business acumen, preferably in a publicly traded company with continuous focus to lower costs while improving performance.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willing to relocate for this role and future roles.
  • Technical proficiency in all functional areas, including systems integration, best practice benchmarking, quality assurance, materials / capacity planning, manufacturing engineering and plant safety.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Additional Characteristics :

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of fractional horsepower electric motors / linear motion systems is desirable.
