The Red Hat Legal team is looking for a talented attorney to join our Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Commercial Legal team in Munich, Germany.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Red Hat sales team in structuring and closing transactions, providing strategic direction to the sales teams and managers, interacting with Red Hat's finance and product management and marketing teams, and implementing legal strategies for the EMEA commercial legal function.
This position requires significant interaction with the highest levels of EMEA management and sophisticated business customers.

Primary job responsibilities
Structure and negotiate direct and channel agreements for sales, marketing, consulting, and product support activities;
prepare, revise, localize, and maintain standard forms of agreement across the EMEA region, including open source software subscription agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, OEM agreements, etc.
Assist in the development of new Red Hat offerings and programs, providing legal support necessary to develop and implement new customer and partner programs and initiatives, as well as new business models, even in emerging markets
Participate in overall compliance, including participation in the training of internal customers on legal and contracting policies and issues
Serve as a point of contact for legal, intellectual property, and policy issues for Red Hat EMEA executives
Full German legal qualification ( 1. und 2. Staatsexamen ) or equivalent European legal education
5+ years of experience as an attorney, including substantial commercial transactional experience
Excellent communication skills
Ability to speak, write, and negotiate fluently in English, German, and ideally in one more European language, preferably Italian or Spanish
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills
Knowledge of contract law and experience drafting and negotiating contracts for the software and technology fields
Experience structuring and negotiating complex, high-value, multi-jurisdictional transactions
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
Ability to work on your own, with minimal supervision
Familiarity and experience with high-tech industry is a big plus
Ability to manage day-to-activities efficiently and to meet deadlines
Results-oriented with the ability and desire to work in a startup-like environment
