As an Applications Engineering your responsibility is to provide technical support to customers that are using BorgWarner products.
You must possess a high degree of understanding for how our products are designed and how they work.
As part of the Sales team, you will take a lead role in helping to ensure that the BorgWarner products are developed according the customer specifications and the application / requirements are understood from the development team.
You will support the Sales and Project Management to work out competitive quotes and to argue cost increases / decreases from technical side.
You will provide technical support to the customer from a very early stage all the way down to the launch of a program and beyond to secure the successor business also.
Work within the German Sales and Applications team
Hold technical discussions with customers with the focus on BorgWarner capabilities, expertise and strategic priorities.
Assist customers with BorgWarner product installation and testing.
Assist customers in system design review or analysis, including system checklists, FMEA and FTA.
Provide feedback on ongoing application issues and problems to Engineering, Quality and Management
Support the Sales team with technical input for quote presentations and other Sales and Marketing Initiatives
Networking with customer advanced engineering groups to identify new electrification opportunities.
Good mechatronic knowledge
Understands electronic Hard and Software as well as electrical machines
Basic experience in component and system testing / measurements
Deep understanding of automotive OEM’s processes and standards
At least bilingual (German / English)
Basic understanding of economics and product costing
Able to work under pressure
High Level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, internally and externally to the company.
Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills; ability to solve complex problems that require considerable judgment.
Comprehensive knowledge of Automotive plant operations and processes.
Product / program management skill; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong computer skill set : Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook.
Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time to customer and plant sites (mainly regionally EU
