Do you want to shape the future? Business Area (BA) Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as Solar & Batteries.

Today we develop, construct and operate wind farms in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our Solar & Batteries assets further.

Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position of Senior Process Improvement Advisor in the Vattenfall Business Unit (BU) Onshore Wind.

This role is placed in the Business Excellence Team within in Business Unit Onshore. Business Excellence has 4 focus areas : Process Excellence, Document Management, Digitalisation and (Non-asset) Project Management.

The team supports with process definition and continuous improvement of it, but also getting documentation in the right place.

We develop digital tools to support the daily work of our colleagues and we manage the portfolio with improvement projects.

An example of an average work week in this role :

On Monday you’re working from the office and you’re helping some colleagues with mapping of new business processes, in this meeting they provide you with input and you are the one translating it into a structured flow.

On Tuesday you’re taking the time to create the process maps and you send them to the process owner for review.

On Wednesday you’re traveling to one of the offices in another country for a workshop with other parts of the business. The workshop is about the harmonisation of the various digital tools in our organisation.

You are the representative for BU Onshore Wind in this workshop. On Thursday you’re making use of the time abroad to test the outcome of your work from Monday / Tuesdays (process maps) with some more colleagues and you’re getting valuable feedback for improvement.

On Friday you are working from home to catch-up with stakeholders via video calls and you’re working on the agreed actions and outcomes from that week.

What we expect from you as a Senior Process Improvement Advisor

You are outgoing and interested in the work of others. This means you can speak the language of the colleagues in our Onshore wind business and you are able to translate these into lean processes or digital solutions and ways-of-working.

You are thinking and steering towards the big picture and focus on standardization, while solving the issues at hand. This means that you are able to create a roadmap or strategy, for example on process excellence or our digital tooling landscape.

You’re able to understand and explain to others how the current activities contribute to the future picture. You are able to work in an agile setup where the end-state is not always fully clear.

You are also able to support stakeholders to deal with this uncertainty. You are able to maintain a relationship with stakeholders.

In Business Excellence we prefer to take a supportive and positive position ( consultancy mindset’) and support others in our business unit to improve, rather than criticising.

This means pro-active communication with and involvement of our colleagues in what we do. You are a frontrunner when it comes to the adoption of new digital ways of working and you are able to drive the further roll out of these new digital ways of working to the rest of the organisation.

Your profile as Senior Process Improvement Advisor

You have a University degree (or equal) in (for example) Business Economics, Information Technology, Engineering or Business Communication.

You have a proven track record of at least 5-7 years in a role as Process Manager, Project Manager or an equivalent role.

You are experienced in working according the logic of agile delivery of projects and preferably holding a certification in that field.

Other process / quality certification such as LEAN, Six Sigma is preferred, but are rather complementary.

You will not have direct reports in this role, but you will have to act as project manager with various team members. You are able to motivate them and jointly deliver on the agreed project scope.

You like working in an international organisation with colleagues spread over multiple locations. You are willing to have regular business trips to these locations (in North-Western Europe), approximately 2-3 times per month.
