Job Summary :
3 month full-time Linguistic Engineering / Speech Science internship for summer 2019 for students pursuing a postgraduate degree in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics.
The intern will focus on improving automatic speech recognition (ASR) in a variety of German-language products, including smart speakers, mobile apps and televisions.
Much of this work will consist of analyzing how our lexica contribute to product performance, and then both proposing and implementing changes to make them more effective.
The successful applicant will have strong Python coding and analytical skills, as well as experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
The student will report to one of our senior staff, with oversight from a Linguistic Engineering manager. The intern will meet at least two times per week with their supervisor, and daily via e-
mail & ad hoc sessions. Work assignments will have duration of two to four weeks, and formal feedback sessions will be given at the midway point half way and on completion.
