Key Account Manager m / f Packaging Coatings

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Key Account Manager in Germany to drive Sherwin Williams Packaging Coatings Business growth across the EMEAI region and business segments.

The role is filed based with a lot of travel and home office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop key account and technology strategies for selected customers and market segments that create big wins.
  • Execute on the go to market strategy, taking into account regional market complexities.
  • Position and sell Sherwin Williams Packaging by leveraging market, cultural, and organizational understanding.
  • Ensure Packaging is positioned correctly against the competition. Gain perfect knowledge of the Key Accounts’ situation including competitive positioning, pricing, and purchasing strategy.
  • Through the art of sales, penetrate and saturate the relevant market.

  • Manage propositions in order to maximise sales and profitability and minimise Working Capital.
  • Maintain close contact with both the technical teams and the assigned Key Accounts in order to control technical progress.
  • Maintain focus and efficiency by identifying overlapping areas, streamlining programs, overseeing implementation, and coordinating activities region-
  • wide and understanding and exploiting fit with global platforms.

  • By demonstrating strong commercial acumen, initiate, drive, and close the sales cycle - accelerate it to outperform our competitors.
  • Position Packaging’s strengths of technology, quality, and speed in a way that the customer perceives as valuable and differentiated from the competition by utilizing both intuition and a deep understanding of the customer, market, and products.
  • Be an integral part of ensuring customer questions and issues are resolved and proactive customer solutions are put in place.
  • Be highly trusted by customers to champion their business interests.
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field required. A university or advanced degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
  • Deep expertise in specialty chemicals, preferably in industrial coatings or specialty resins, or deep expertise in other related sectors and markets such as Food and Beverage, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) ideal.
  • A proven track record as an accomplished sales executive developing and implementing strategies for ambitious market growth within Europe.
  • Demonstrated success achieving on ambitious sales objectives.
  • Be practiced in best in class, value-add, solutions selling as well as with related business principles and practices. Expertise in highly technical environments.
  • Possess strong self-initiative with an innate ability to set priorities and then deliver on those priorities - sense of urgency.
  • Experience profiling and targeting customers and developing contacts as well as experience developing and managing internal and external customer relationships.
  • Be absolutely capable leveraging networking and relationships to achieve sales targets.

  • Be able to communicate assertively, effectively, and credibly across all levels of the organization to ensure consistency and delivery of the Packaging message.
  • Be comfortable presenting information (recommendations for solutions and giving presentations clearly and concisely) to a variety of audiences.

  • Possess strength of character to proactively intervene when critical information is lacking in order to ensure plant objectives are met.
  • Prior experience operating effectively within entrepreneurial environments within multi-national organizations.
  • Fluency in English and German is a must, with additional European language fluency a plus.
