This position is for a division of Magna Electronics.

We design and supply the unique electronic components and sub-systems to meet future vehicle system needs.
The Manager leads the engineering team(s) through various product development cycles delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions to internal and external customers.
The Manager has responsibility for both people management (development, coaching) and project leadership for those projects in his / her domain.
As appropriate to specific role, acts as primary customer and internal interface for all escalated technical issues.
Tracks and reports on engineering targets (BOM cost, quality, customer and / or internal delivery timing, performance, project and department engineering budget, etc.
for all assigned projects.
Ensures that programs are properly resourced (both quality and quantity) for success, whether through assignment of direct resources, or leverage of external resources as required.
Provides team leadership, management support, including coaching and active engagement with direct and extended team.
Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross functional engineering team in the development and release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and / or customer expectations.
Knowledge and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Masters degree preferred. Management / Leadership training is an asset.
15 years of relevant experience in the appropriate discipline and in team management / coaching
Target 20+ years of relevant experience in the appropriate discipline. Delivering complex technical projects and in team management / coaching.

Comprehensive knowledge of product development and engineering practices in the automotive field.
Comprehensive working knowledge in structured engineering approach
Comprehensive working knowledge of structured problem solving (8D)
Comprehensive working knowledge of configuration management, project planning, monitoring and control techniques
Comprehensive working knowledge of validation and verification techniques
Profound technical knowledge of automotive electronics products. Familiar with typical automotive OEM requirements. Can anticipate customer requirements, even if not stated in customer documentation.
Working knowledge of IS026262, hazard, SAE J2464, IEC, NEC, ISO 20G53, and two-level fault strategies.
knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control / configuration management
Comprehensive knowledge of analysis, engineering and product lifecycle management tools
ALM tools (PTC Integrity)
Working knowledge of CAN and LIN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI
High Level understanding of Model based development
Modeling tools : Mathworks based tools (Matlab, Simulink), Enterprise Architect
