In this new and challenging position, as Electrical Design Engineer - Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIG), you will be responsible for creating design calculations for different rotating electrical machines especially double-
fed induction generators, winding designs and insulation systems. Based in Ingolstadt, Germany, you will be reporting to The Engineering Manager of Renewable Energy.
Electrical design experience in the field of doubly fed electric machines is essential. Fluency in English is a must, whilst German language skills are advantageous.
Work with the Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality and Supply functions to ensure we design for performance, quality, purchasing and manufacturing.
Design and Dimensioning of Electrical Machines.
Release and approval of manufacturing documentation.
Standardization of existing alternator types, families and their components.
Technical clarification of customer requirements and order specification.
Creation of manufacturing documentation (drawings, instructions, Bill-of-materials) for all products of the Renewable Energy Business.
Assessment, release and approval of manufacturing or supplier claims, deviations or errors.
Work closely with manufacturing and purchasing functions to achieve good quality designs that meet or exceed cost targets.
Build relations with current and potential suppliers and customers to support design activities.
Working with the service department assessment and support of service issues.
Working with sales department - technical support of sales to achieve and maintain a high quality customer relationship.
Engineering studies Electrical Design, preferable Power Generation, high voltage systems, rotating electrical machines.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Proven experience as Electrical Design Engineer in electrical design of double-fed induction machines, as well as rotating electrical machinery
Knowledge in electromagnetic design of electrical machines, high voltage systems, insulation systems, general electrical components
Ability to use a range of IT related software and basic programming skills
Drafting, use of CAD software for electrical machines
Good knowledge of English language (written and spoken), knowledge of German would be an advantage
