Rheinmetall Canada is currently looking for a systems engineer who will participate in the definition, development, validation, and integration of remotely operated weapon stations to be installed on a variety of armoured military vehicles.
Define system requirements and specifications.
Determine the product physical and functional architecture.
Lead the integration, qualification, and validation of the product.
Manage subsystems requirements and ensure that suppliers meet the technical and interface specifications.
Follow up with suppliers on technical matters.
Act as technical authority with the customer.
Support the project manager in the coordination of the engineering activities.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in systems, electrical, or software engineering.
Possess more than 5 years of pertinent experience.
Possess general knowledge of hardware and software development.
Have experience in managing customers and subcontractors relations.
Be knowledgeable about electro-optical systems.
Have the capacity and expertise required to draft technical documents, such as system and interface specifications.
Foster teamwork and be able to interact with the other project team specialists.
Be able and available to travel.
Be fluent in French and in English (written and spoken).
Knowledge in the development of subsystems aimed at controlling and stabilizing multi-axial electromechanical systems using DC-
type electric motors coupled to position sensors and gyroscopes.
Expertise in electro-optical image acquisition and processing systems, including knowledge of video
signal transmission protocols, and infrared and charge-coupled device optical sensors.
Knowledge of ballistics (trajectory and terminal effect).
Knowledge of the military domain.
Knowledge of military weapons and their handling.
