We are looking for a new Environment, Health and Safety Specialist to join us and strengthen our EMENA expansion.
Main purpose of job
Ensure the mental & physical health of Howden employees and subcontractors, within the workplaces and client sites where there are ongoing Howden Service activities.
Ensuring that operations are environmentally friendly
Execute EHS policies in the workplaces according to Howden Safe Home Roadmap , local legislations and ISO 140001, ISO 45001 and SCCp procedures
Embed and maintain a positive EHS culture, at all level
Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities
Investigate all accidents and near misses.
Ensure root causes are determined.
Develop and share effective actions to prevent reoccurrence with all locations, including processes changes, training, communication
Ensure that customers sites are safe to operate
Identify, implement and sustain the actions and best practices required to ensure
EHS legal compliance compliance with Howden EHS Standards ISO 140001, ISO 45001 and SCCp compliance ( EHS parts)
Lead certification processes
Develop a strong EHS culture across the organisation, transforming employee behaviours
Ensure that employees are fully trained to work on a safe manner and protecting the environment
Provide written reports of safety related issues / KPI’s on a periodic basis or as requested
You will be travelling across German, Austrian and Swiss sites, so if you are based far from our Olpe site, but still in Germany, that is also adequate for this position
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
Language Capabilities : English and German
Education Requirements : Technikerschule or University degrees are preferred,
but not necessary
Proven EHS Management experience in industrial environment / global organisations / Field Service Activities
Effective communication leadership, team work skills, ability to influence and motivate people
Accountability, ownership
Proven EHS Management experience in AFM / environment at risk is a plus
Internal auditor certification
Deep knowledge of ISO 140001, ISO 45001 and SCCp procedures
Ability to expertly prioritize and execute multiple initiatives, projects and tasks where deadlines are tight with effective leadership
Ability to implement culture change
