    Do you want to play an active role of our growing Global R&D organization in Ingelheim? In this position, you are accountable for the contractual process and strive to foster our pipeline by external opportunities, such as external products or technologies.

    Tasks & responsibilities

  • With your expertise you initiate, develop, negotiate and conclude contractual arrangements involving intellectual property rights for access to external technologies, product opportunities, franchises or legal entities to complement the internal product pipeline and product portfolio supporting the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (BIAH) Strategy.
  • You are accountable for leading the contracting phase which includes creation of term sheets, non-binding and binding offer memos and subsequently presenting to the BD&L Committee for approval.
  • Also, you lead the due diligence of external opportunities with a team of respective experts from relevant functions. Depending of the scope of the deal this could also be a co-lead together with Corporate Finance.
  • In addition, you shape and increase BIAH s visibility as preferred partner by attending Partnering events and creating win-win negotiations.
  • Moreover, you establish a strong collaboration, you consult and you support the internal strategic partnering as well as alliance management teams.
  • Furthermore, you influence, inform and align with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Requirements

  • Advanced degree in science or veterinary medicine (MSc, PhD, DVM) preferred, Advanced Business Degree (MBA) preferred
  • Experience and knowledge in therapeutic or vaccine field, preferably in Animal Health
  • Strong scientific credentials, conversant in the fundamental scientific concepts of the Animal Health Global Innovation focus areas
  • Experience in in-licensing or technology transfer preferred
  • Long-term experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, long-term experience in scientific project management, business development or alliance management
  • Ability to effectively influence, build trustful relationships and make recommendations
  • Several years of leadership experience to form, lead, manage and negotiate cross- functional and cross-regional Teams is preferred
  • Proven track record of innovative and independent problem-solving skills, combined with open-minded excellent communication skills
  • Ability to drive multiple projects in an global environment
  • Willingness to travel to various international meetings including overnight trips
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English (additional language skills of advantage)
