The Department of Biochemistry in the School of Biology / Chemistry at the University of Osnabrueck invites applications for a position of a

Postdoctoral Researcher (m / f / d)

salary grade E 13 TV-L, 100 %)

starting 1st of November 2019 or later for a duration of three years.

Project Aims and Assignments :

Participation in a DFG-funded research project : Spatiotemporal dynamics and function of multisubunit trafficking complexes with dual functionality within the endolysosomal pathway .

Description of responsibilities :

  • Analysis of the function of heterohexameric tethering complexes in yeast and higher eukaryotes
  • Application of cell biology and biochemistry techniques
  • Required qualifications :

  • Candidates are required to hold a master's degree / diploma in Biology, Chemistry or a related discipline
  • PhD degree in Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry) or related studies
  • Desirable qualifications :

  • Experience in transport processes along the endomembrane system in eukaryotes
  • Knowledge of cell biology and biochemistry techniques in yeast and mammalian cells
  • Biochemical experience with proteins and their posttranslational modifications
  • Ability to work in an international team
  • Very good knowledge of English as a working language of the lab
