The Engineering Project Leader role in Aptiv has the responsibility to solve cross-competency issues within Engineering.

This person is the Single point of contact to the PM organization for the engineering project timing plan and execution of all engineering activities and deliverables by supervising Engineering project sub-teams.

Collaborating with the Customer Chief Engineer and / or Engineering Program Leader to manage engineering deliverables on time, on cost and on quality levels with supporting documentation through coordination of the Resident Engineers.

It is expected that the EPjL acts as a Primary interface to Customer for engineering deliverables, time plan and execution.

Responsible to prepare and execute Design Reviews & Peer Reviews and completeness of the Design Review workbook in compliance with PDP process.

Responsible for the Technical Risk Register : Identify risks, project scope changes, evaluate, rate, action plans, change points and manage contingency plans.

Assure the engineering competencies are considering design for manufacturability (DFA, DFM).

Approve Start / Stop / Change / Signoff of engineering activity on project / component level work packages.

Responsible for the evaluation and management of internal and customer technical (product) change requests. Technical change estimation (effort / timing / cost) and present PCE impact.

Follow the PCE in compliance with the PCE Process.

Responsible and owner for closure of PCRs and VIRs as requested along with the Customer Chief Engineer.

Develop and maintain compliant Engineering deliverables timing (HW (ME / EE), Validation, SW, Systems) in collaboration with the Program Management.

Owns customer problem troubleshooting and drives corrective action.

Responsible for coordination and delivery of the product solution hand-over to customer at milestones.

Participate in Big Room Planning, Program Iteration (PI) Demo, Program Iteration (PI) Retro.

Responsible for working with competency leads and / or Engineering Program Leaders in identifying and fulfilling staffing assignments for the engineering projects.

Responsible for the BOM cost and stretch and related technical topics


Master’s degree or bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant years of experience R

Product Development Process knowledge and experience (must) R

Proficiency on technical reporting and summary R

Prior experience supported with domain knowledge for Product developed P

Proven track record in negotiating and influencing P

Planning / organizing skills R

Customer contact experience R

Good English knowledge R

Ability to work in a virtual team environment R

Ability to network & collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization R

Team oriented and self-driven R

Honesty in relation with company, clients and co-operators R

Understanding and using Servant Leadership R
