Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated and creative communications professional to join our operations communication team.

As a Community Communications Manager, you will help manage strategic community relations for Amazon's logistics operations in Germany.

The ideal candidate would be based in Munich (other locations are open for discussion) with an ability to travel regularly to fulfillment, sortation center and delivery station communities and have established relationships - or the ability to quickly establish relationships with locally-based stakeholders, and community leaders.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability, exceptional initiative, and a talent for collaboration and working independently.

You should have experience delivering results with high standards under tight deadlines.

Core job responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders - both national and local level
  • Proactively build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
  • Manage an external public relations agency who focus on community engagement initiatives
  • Write, develop and manage approvals for new CSR projects, fact sheets, and related materials for Amazon’s operations business
  • Research and integrate news, trends and compelling angles into our community programs
  • Deliver communications counsel to internal executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities
  • Develop and manage the execution of external engagement programs in cities with Amazon operations such as high-visibility events, community donations with locally elected officials.
  • Develop and execute inventive messages and tactics that engage a diverse employee base
  • Create, measure and coordinate distribution of timely and relevant communications
  • Manage and support crisis communications as needed.
  • Exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
  • Think and communicate clearly the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it in both German and English.
