Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications.

  • They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities;
  • determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support.

    They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

    THE FIELD ENGINEER within TE Industrial is the technical salesperson who will drive and develop relationships within our key customer engineering organisations.

    The Field Engineer is supporting the AMs with broader application / product specific knowledge via direct contact with our Industrial lead customers, and providing technical intelligence to Account Managers and Product Managers.

    Strategic Planning :

  • Communicate and influence growth plan to internal stakeholders
  • Align growth plan and customer technical needs closely with overall account strategy plan from account owner (AM / SE).
  • Identify gaps in our product and technology roadmaps in conjunction with customers' roadmaps.
  • Demand Creation :

  • Identify the needs of the customer as early as possible by understanding the Industrial Customers, products, end markets and applications.
  • Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved TE internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project management, marketing, etc.)
  • Ensure on-time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities
  • Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE) through positive Customer communication and touchpoints with both internal and external customers
  • Market Intelligence :

  • Knowledgeable of our current / future product positioning to gain or re-gain market share. This also includes identifying the right selling methodology
  • Understands key components of a Competitive Landscape : customers’ needs and how you can address those needs; how you compare against your competitors in meeting those needs
  • What your background should look like :

    Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in one of the following academic disciplines mechanics, electrics, electronics or relevant
  • Minimum three years experience in industrial engineering (required) and sales (preferred)
  • Skills & Abilities Required :

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE)
  • Must have demonstrated successful experience in process management
  • Business acumen and strong project management skills
  • Creativity to see alternatives
  • Ability to work toward targets
  • German and English language skills (fluently)
