As a Principal Product Manager in Data Warehousing / Data Integration you are :
Identifying and prioritizing data-related business opportunities in close interaction with stakeholders from all parts of the company, supporting thousands of internal customers and dozens of enterprise-critical initiatives
Leveraging state-of-the-art technologies like Apache Spark and Presto in a cloud environment (AWS) to drive Zalando's success with high-quality data for business analytics and machine learning
Working with an agile team of data engineers and data analysts in Zalando's central data unit
Aligning with major stakeholders and other central technology teams (Data Lake, Event Bus, Machine Learning Productivity) to shape the future of data at Zalando

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Principal Product Manager in Digital Foundation, you are the company expert for Data Warehousing and you will shape the vision of the entire data experience within Zalando.
You will be working on the strategy and tactics of the central Data Warehousing department, taking responsibility for business-critical data pipelines.
You will work with a complex and heterogeneous stakeholder base to identify business opportunities, covering use cases from Machine Learning to classical reporting to near-real-time analytics.
You will be part of great and ambitious team that shapes the future of data at Zalando.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Get to know a large number of internal customers that range from reporting via engineering to Data Science. Understand their needs and connect them to the technical capabilities of our platform
Driving your products together with agile development teams, specifying business requirements, prioritizing user stories, supporting development, defining KPIs, proactively approaching users and stakeholders, collecting feedback and acting on it
Contribute to decision making by writing great narratives that analyze and explain problems and propose solutions with their pros and cons
Enabling the organization to leverage its data treasure to its full potential; evangelizing your team's products, tools, and services within the company
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Several years of Product Management experience
Expertise in managing Big Data Warehouses, in ETL engineering, Big Data, near-real-time event processing, and data analytics
Excellent communication skills (both speaking and writing), adapting both the content and message to the audience (users, peers, stakeholders, and executive management)
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Knowledge about legal regulations for data is nice to have (e.g. GDPR)
