Purpose :

Delivers innovative procurement solutions for regional business to achieve continuous cost savings and customer service requirements.

Primary daily contact person for transporters, SC Planning-, SC Execution- and S&CS teams relating to transport sourcing and transporter performance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support Carrier Manager in development and implementation of national and local freight procurement and transport sourcing strategy
  • Support Carrier Manager in initiation and development of bid event’s and sign of routing guides in the TMS to its conclusion to analyse of costs results and proposal of cost improvements
  • Managing the on-boarding of new carriers
  • Drive continuous improvement in service and cost reduction, constantly looking for ways to improve our processes (independent price negotiation with allocated transporters)
  • Support standardisation of transporter procedures and measurements
  • Track, manage, analyse and challenge carrier performances including rates, capacity and service commitments
  • Professionally communicate with internal and external customers
  • Support and active development of Customer and Retailer Collaboration activities (participation in customer meetings required)
  • Provide support for projects or when called upon lead a project relating to carrier management
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of transportation and stay up to date on new practices in the market
  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of carriers on CHEP systems (i.e. BluJay)
  • Analyse service incidents and proactively propose actions for improvement
  • Support Carrier Manager to supervise compliance with transporters safety policy regulations (Zero Harm)
  • Our Requirements :

  • Apprenticeship to forwarding merchant is required, or an applicable university qualification
  • At least 5-year experience within transportation management with proven negotiation skills
  • Experience in an international office environment
  • Experience in transport sourcing and price negotiations
  • Experience in project management
  • Fluent German & English skills required
