Job Description for Advertising Purposes Revenue Recognition Specialist (f / m / d)
Location : Unterschleissheim / Munich
In this role, you will be a part of the PTC EMEA revenue team reporting to the EMEA Revenue Recognition Manager. This is a high exposure role.
The successful candidate will be a key contributor to many departmental goals / objectives and lead multiple projects impacting PTC’s worldwide finance community.
You will regularly interface across multiple functional organizations. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the organization to understand both revenue recognition complexities and various financial analyses.

As part of the Revenue Recognition team, you will join a leading-edge company with great software technologies & a strong market position, and you will closely collaborate with all major functions connected to our organization including Sales, Customer Success, Dealdesk, Order Management, Accounting, Pricing and FP&A.

Perform contract reviews for revenue related contracts applying related accounting guidance to determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC606 and document conclusions
Interact with Deal Desk, Legal, Operations and Sales during contract negotiations / non-standard deal modeling gaining an understanding of the deal structure and identify facts that might impact revenue recognition and reporting
Review, recalculate, and analyze the accounting of revenue contracts in the revenue accounting automation system and communicate any required adjustments and / or revenue judgements to the Revenue Accounting team
Proactively identify issues and process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and where appropriate, work with business partners and management to resolve or assist with implementation to improve efficiency.
Create process and procedure documents
Execute Sox controls and prepare related documentation for Management review
Field research, and respond to international finance teams, business leaders, and management queries and assist with ad hoc projects
Coordinate and assist with the preparation of documentation to respond to internal and external audit queries for corporate quarterly and annual audits to ensure auditors are receiving required information in an accurate and timely manner.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge :
Accounting knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS
Knowledge of ASC 606 or IFRS software revenue recognition rules (preferred)
Experience in conducting research of accounting literature for compliance under U.S. GAAP / IFRS
Ability to apply technical revenue accounting rules in a variety of unique and complex contracts in a time sensitive environment (quarter and year end)
Good communication skills : experience working across, departments and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner;
able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
Demonstrated business acumen and ability to deal with ambiguity and understanding PTC’s business drivers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2 4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field (Public Accounting firm experience a plus)
Excellent German and good English language skills, other languages a plus
Strong Excel skills
Strong attention to details, analytical and communication skills, time management
