You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

Google Cloud Platform is changing the way the world uses cloud computing by exposing our infrastructure. As a Sales Engineer, you'll use your leadership skills and knowledge of product management, industries, software and cloud computing to design solutions and take them to market.

You will help drive awareness of our solutions at industry conferences and Google events. You will use your technical / business depth and excellent presentation skills to help decision makers understand the benefits of Google Cloud Platform to drive growth and customer success.

In this role, you'll become a trusted advisor to our clients and prospects and advocate for our platform, helping our partners to get the most value from our platform.

You'll help customers discover the right technology and solutions specific to their needs, consulting around the best way to implement them, optimizing for results when in production, and always ensuring that their success is our priority.

Responsibilities

  • Work to identify / qualify platform opportunities and determine if Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is right for them. Identify business / technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Lead the technical project, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product / solution briefings, proof-
  • of-concept work, and coordinate supporting technical resources.

  • Work with GCP products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer / partner environments. Travel frequently around Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for meetings, technical reviews and onsite delivery activities.
  • Prepare / deliver product messaging to highlight GCP value proposition using whiteboard / slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management and request for information (RFI) response documents.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms / application infrastructure to successfully implement a complete solution.
  • Provide best practice advice to customers to optimize GCP effectiveness.

    Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in networking (e.g., Network Virtualization, Open Protocols, Application Acceleration / Load Balancing, Virtual Private Networks).
  • Experience with cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, etc.), the cloud market, and customer buying behavior.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience writing code in a web / mobile development language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, PHP, Android or iOS). Experience managing complex network implementations.
  • Experience installing, optimizing and maintaining cross-country networks, leveraging traditional and innovative protocol frameworks.
  • Experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in cloud computing or a customer-facing role on a professional services / systems engineering team.
  • Working knowledge of Main Traditional Routing Protocols, TCP / IP, MPLS-VPN, IPSEC, Load Balancing, Network Security, DNS, Encryption and QoS.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with new technologies / methodologies / solutions in cloud / IT.
