JOB PURPOSE (SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?)
As a Junior Editor, you deliver Opta’s data to clients such as media companies, clubs, federations, Perform divisions and other companies, adding value to the raw data by providing your editorial perspective and your expertise in a customer centred approach both reactive (Hotline) and proactive.
During live games, you use our database to find interesting facts, delivering both to customers and social media followers either from the editorial office or at the production facilities of TV companies, or even the sporting venue.
Customer service responsibilities are also key features of your role.

Fact checking for all outputs produced by our editorial team 20
Editorial hotline support production of features, according to customer requests 10
Editorial live support Provide Opta facts and data to customers using our Live tool or directly at the customer’s venue 15
Customer Service (QA) Respond to technical customer requests, monitor feed delivery to customers 10
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS (DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?) Skill Level (out of 4)
Deep and profound knowledge of both German and international football 4
Perfect knowledge of the German language (especially in writing) 4
Utmost accuracy in all editorial outputs 4
Excellent English skills 3
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS (DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?)
Knowledge in other sports, especially Formula 1, Tennis and Handball
Deep tactical understanding of football both player and coaching experience
Already existing contacts to other sports media companies
Experience in sports journalism existing data editorial experience would be ideal
