Operations Manager (Logistic Order Preparation) (f / m)

At our site in Weil am Rhein, we are offering an exciting job opportunity as Operations Manager (f / m).

In this position you ensure all distribution orders are dispatched on time to agreed quality standards. For this purpose the co-

  • ordination of staff and resource must be checked and prioritized where necessary. Additionally, you ensure the planned manufacturing steps can start to the scheduled date;
  • this entails, where required, equipment, materials and approved documentation must be available and in place as per the agreed schedule.

    In this position you work in a multi-disciplinary environment and are required to coordinate with all necessary departments to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost levels are maintained to expected standards.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Ensures all distribution and packaging operational activities are performed in a compliant, cost effective and timely manner, in alignment to both internal and external expectations.
  • Coordinates missing operational requirements with all departments involved, timely escalation of issues to the Head of Operations and where necessary concerned departments.
  • Contributes towards recruitment, training, supervision and appraisals of employees
  • Supports / leads investigations into Quality and Safety incidents, actively promotes the working to high standards in both areas.
  • Acts as deputy of Head of Operations during periods of absence.
  • Local approval of absence requests.
  • Participation / leading of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 stand up meetings, where necessary acting as a deputy for the Head of Operations.
  • Active participation in the identification, communication and resolution of process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Participation in specific projects as directed by the Head of Operations.
  • Participation in both regulatory and customer audits
  • Your Profile :

  • At least 5 years of experience in a fast moving operational role, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment or similar industry,
  • Education in either logistics or material planning is a plus
  • Ability to work to defined timelines and where necessary prioritise effectively to ensure compliance to all standards.
  • Able to work as both a team member or individual maintaining good communication with both peers and colleagues.
  • Ability to independently solve problems.
  • Previous experience of managing teams
  • Fluency both written and spoken in German, Good command of English
  • MS Office, Outlook and ERP systems
  • Lean / Operational Excellence is a plus
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary / multicultural team environment
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Project)
