Your Tasks

  • Take over the leadership of the Predevelopment Department (Team Earth Observation Missions)
  • Disciplinary lead of the Predevelopment Earth Observation Missions department team
  • Identify, evaluate and initiate improvements for the Predevelopment Earth Observation Missions department
  • Derive the Predevelopment Earth Observation Missions strategy based on the division - and company strategy
  • Seek solutions for strategical, planning and organizational issues together with the immediate superior and implement these within the department
  • Review implementation progress and status of the defined strategy in Predevelopment - Earth Observation Missions
  • Report to the division Director and Management Board
  • Analyze and evaluate customer opportunities in the Predevelopment - Earth Observation Missions domain and derive a strategy for their implementation
  • Evaluate and decide upon concepts of Earth Observations Missions phase A / B1 proposals
  • Lead of proposals (ESA, DLR, EC, commercial customers, etc.)
  • In co-operation with Earth Observation Missions project managers, definition of project targets in co-ordination with the customer, team partners and company management;
  • communication of project targets to all involved stakeholders

  • Definition and management of projects
  • Organisation and delegation of tasks and responsibilities to the department staff
  • Support of the department staff in their skilldevelopment
  • Your Qualifications

  • Diploma or Master in aerospace engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in research and development projects, especially in definition phases
  • Experience in lead of project teams, work force planning
  • Willingness to shape future processes and organization and drive change
  • Profound experience in early phase project and proposals of Earth Observation System satellites and payloads
  • EO-market and stakeholder knowledge
  • Experience in team lead, ability to work in teams, team motivation
  • Strong emphasis on quality and cost
  • Relevant experience in a leadership / management position, ideally within OHB group
  • Experiences in heterogeneous, virtual / matrix and multinational environment
  • Excellent management skills, solution orientation, work organization, conflict management
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
  • Well-developed communication and leadership skills
  • Proven skills in project management are a plus
  • Proven moderation and communication skills are a plus
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and German
