As a Lead Corporate Development (w / m / d) you will be expected to guide and contribute to high visibility projects within the Corporate Development Team.

In this function, you will play a key role in shaping Zalando’s priorities and addressing key business questions in the constantly moving environment of fashion tech.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

Identify, evaluate, prepare and execute strategic value creation opportunities which can serve as a catalyst for the development of the company;

prioritize major opportunities and challenges, and develop detailed strategic recommendations for senior leadership and the Management Board

Support the business in evaluating and executing transformatory business development and change projects

Provide valuable input to the Group Strategy process; generate actionable insights on innovation, competition and general market developments to fuel the company with new ideas;

develop an end to end understanding of the company by building relationships across the organization

Steer cross-functional project teams in the Corporate Development Team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or equivalent; 7+ years of experience as a consultant in a top tier strategy consulting firm and / or in core strategic / commercial role in a large corporation, preferably in the ecommerce / fashion / tech environment, project leadership experience, as well as your first people management experience are ideal

Problem solving and outstanding diagnostic skills, top-notch project management, capable of managing senior stakeholders

Excellent written and oral communication skills; track record of influencing senior leaders and teams to make impactful and potentially controversial decisions

Affinity for numbers, feels very comfortable calculating business cases, passion for ecommerce / fashion / tech, and an understanding of online business models and current industry trends

Pro-active and action-oriented team player, highly organized, self-directed and motivated, with a passion to help junior team members develop, excellent communication skills, both written and oral;

Business fluent English, German is a plus
