The successful candidate will take on the leadership of the software teams for our instrument and analysis software. We are looking for a strong technical lead who enjoys managing teams of people and will help us to transition to autonomous embedded instrument control software, and cloud-based analysis solutions.
Manages the Life Science software teams in the Imaging & Detection CoE
Designs and develops scalable software solutions for use in scientific environments
Works with LS product management and fellow R&D leaders to develop a long-term software and instrument roadmap, leveraging reuse, scalability and wide value
Works with fellow software leaders and the PKI Systems Architect to drive partnered approach in architecting innovative solutions for broad use
Develops and coaches the software teams with respect to technical competence, development processes and tools.
Drives an agile software development approach.
Basic Qualifications :
Diploma or master’s degree in sciences or engineering
5 - 10 years’ experience in leading Life Science, Biotech (or related) systems development and associate software design & delivery
Strong leadership and communication skills, including cross-functional communication.
Experience with agile software development techniques, especially Scrum.
Preferred Qualifications :
Several years of professional experience with and solid knowledge of cloud application architecture and development
Expertise in at least one object-oriented language
Experience with development for Windows and Unix / Linux environments.
Practical experience with database technologies (SQL or NoSQL), at least one well-known web framework
