Role & Responsibilities :

As Recruiter you will be responsible for strategically executing the end-to-end hiring process for Germany at American Express, while ensuring superior candidate and Hiring Leader experience.

You will execute the sourcing, screening, assessment, interview, and offer processes in order to acquire the best candidates with speed and quality.

You will be a talent champion who can actively stay connected to a robust pipeline of candidates, maintain long-term candidate relationships, and energetically sell the role and the American Express brand.

Reporting into the Recruitment Manager, you will assist in driving best practice across the recruitment lifecycle.

Here’s just some of what you’ll do in this role :

Demonstrate business acumen and understanding of American Express lines of business

Communicate trends, market intelligence insights and provide proactive recruitment guidance to drive future recruitment activity

Be a subject matter expert in recruitment at American Express with clear understanding of the global recruitment process and policy

Own full lifecycle recruitment activities for all lines of business, ensuring superior candidate experience, while staying abreast of new hiring practices and trends

Enact broader GTA recruitment strategy to ensure delivery of qualified and diverse talent

Source and identify talent through traditional and non-traditional sourcing channels, while building and maintaining robust active and passive candidate pipeline

Use specialist market / industry knowledge to assist with development and ongoing management of pre-qualified candidate talent pools using CRM

Recommend and drive improvements to the local sourcing strategy and pipeline by actively interfacing with GTA Manager

Work with Hiring Leaders to manage hiring volume and headcount goals, gathers key input for candidate slates

Update and post jobs, manage talent pools and requisitions, and disposition candidates

Conduct first round interview, intake meetings, interview debriefs, and review assessments. Provide feedback on candidates and influence hiring decisions

Structure new offers, working with compensation team to determine appropriate packages, negotiate offer, and make offer edits as necessary

Partner with employee relations, legal, background verification team, etc. to provide end-to-end service to candidates and Hiring Leaders

Communicate proactively and in a timely manner with candidates, providing details on the selection process and Hiring Leader feedback

As directed by Recruitment Manager assist with or lead development and delivery of ad-hoc or recruitment projects and initiatives

Support recruitment activities in EMEA markets outside Germany as required

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Two+ years of related full lifecycle recruiting experience including direct sourcing (headhunting, developing talent pools, engaging with passive talent)
  • Experience utilizing current TA technologies (CRM and ATS)
  • Ability to make logical decisions in a complex environment
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize accordingly
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interface with candidates in an engaging and persuasive manner
  • Ability to partner with, advise, and influence Hiring Leaders in a consultative manner to foster long-term relationships
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal skills
  • Fluent in German and English, a third European language is a plus
