The Opportunity Canopy Growth is currently seeking an energetic individual to join our team and assist in a strategic manner as Project Director -

EU Reporting to the VP, Interdepartmental Project Management, the Project Director - EU will be a crucial player in Canopy Growth’s EU expansion strategy.

This individual will be responsible for overseeing multiple EU infrastructure, business capability, and product development projects across various locations in the EU.

The key to success in this role will be the ability to facilitate cross functional planning and project execution activities, including performing horizontal risk identification and management, identifying key dependencies, and reporting on overall project progress and success.

This role will also be critical in ensuring continuous alignment with the objectives of the Project Management Office, including building and implementing project management practices to be extended to future projects.

Responsibilities Lead cross functional project teams to deliver multiple major projects encompassing infrastructure / facilities, business capabilities, and product development Work collaboratively and cross-

  • functionally to plan and execute delivery of infrastructure, equipment, policy and processes, procedures, back office support, human resources, back office support, human resourcing requirements, and operational requirements Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate project activities;
  • track critical path milestones, accomplishments and results. Ensure that end-to-end project planning, risk identification, dependency tracking, issues identification / escalation, and change management are being managed appropriately through team resources Identify project dependencies and make recommendations regarding project sequencing, design and planning efficiencies, project investment decisions, and risk mitigation Lead and organize multi-

    stakeholder planning and risk identification, leveraging project governance as required for effective gating and success criteria monitoring.

    Monitors and mitigates risks to project success, escalating for resolution when required Continually ensuring project objectives and outcomes are aligned with corporate best practices and plans Support and facilitate the design of new business processes Ensure successful transition of project delivery to ongoing operations Build and manage a project management team across various locations in the EU Support colleagues and leadership in the development of project management and portfolio management best practices, tools, and processes Other duties as required Experience and Background Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and team building skills Results oriented and independent, driven by initiative and collaboration to overcome challenges Post-

    secondary degree in a related field A minimum of 10 years’ experience in major project design and development, ideally in the manufacturing, food or beverage, or consumer packaged goods industries A minimum of 2 years’ experience overseeing multiple concurrent major projects Valid project management designation / certification (e.

    g. PMP, Prince2) A minimum of 3 years supervising staff Demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure in an environment where priorities can conflict Experience preparing and presenting business cases Must be able to clearly explain technical issues and constraints to non-

    technical people in both verbal and written communication Experience working with off-site project team members is an asset Bilingual (fluent in English + German and / or Spanish)
