As a member of the DB Group Tax Function based in DB Schenker HO Essen, with a disciplinary reporting line to the Global Head of Accounting of DB Schenker and a functional reporting line to the Head of International Taxes of DB Group, you will support and co-ordinate international tax and transfer pricing related activities for DB Schenker entities in alignment with DB Group tax strategy and tax policy.
This will incorporate supporting DB Schenker with the analysis, information and content for a tax compliance management system required to assess the international tax position of DB Schenker business division.
You will support the development and implementation of global and divisional tax relevant guidelines and initiatives from an international tax perspective.
You will be a part of the International Tax Network of DB Group and will represent DB Schenker tax matters therein.
Assist with the implementation of the DB Group tax strategy and DB Group tax policy and guidelines within the area of international tax and transfer pricing within the DB Schenker business division.
Assist and advise Products (Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport, Contract Logistics), Functions (Sales & Marketing, Finance, IT, HR), and Regions (Europe, MEA, APAC, Americas) with international tax and transfer pricing issues.
Assist with the implementation of the DB Group tax compliance management system within DB Schenker business division such as developing and implementing policies, internal controls and procedures and drive development and implementation of these within the regions.
Assist in structuring decisions and where necessary in defining appropriate tax language in contract / documentation reviews aligning with DB Group and DB Schenker policies / guidelines (e.
g. relating to business and corporate restructuring projects).
Conduct the customer contract reviews from an international tax perspective
Advise on Transfer Pricing Projects
Support implementation / update and monitor local transfer pricing activities consistent with Group policy and guidelines.
Support TP integration of all newly established / acquired entities as required.
Support implementation / update and monitor local transfer pricing documentation activities consistent with centrally coordinated approach.
Support development of DB Schenker local file templates and introducing documentation processes to improve transparency and data availability for local files and tax audits.
Monitoring the timely submission of TP documentation and operating and coordinating IT application for managing TP documentation of DB Schenker.
Support interaction and negotiation with tax authorities on international tax and transfer pricing matters where necessary and ensure a proper exchange and communication with the DB Group tax function in this regard.
Assist with monitoring of the effective tax rate calculation and tax risk reporting process and recommend implementing changes that will aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy in reporting estimated and actual income tax expense calculations and tax risk reporting in line with Group policy / guidelines.
Ensure that the DB Group Tax function has good visibility and is well integrated within DB Schenker businesses and proactively participate and contribute to International Tax Network of DB Group
Support tax components of global projects and initiatives of DB Group and / or DB Schenker business division including potential coordination and tax assistance with permanent establishments of German entities or of entities from other regions / countries in the regions and the delivery of tax trainings.
Support tax analysis advice in relation to acquisitions, disposals and reorganizations with advice covering withholding taxes and treaty benefits in alignment with DB Group Tax Function.
Qualifications To be successful in the above role, you should possess the following key skills :
University degree in Business Administration, Law or similar degree, with focus on accounting, controlling and / or tax
Business fluency in English and German (written and spoken)
Good understanding of system landscape, e.g. MS Office, and basic skills in SAP
Minimum 5 years of relevant practical experience in Transfer Pricing and International Tax
Professional background preferably from multinational or from advisory firm
German tax advisor (or equivalent) qualification
