Legal Counsel (m / f) Global Procurement

In this newly created role you will report to our SVP Corporate, Regulatory, GMQ & GRD and be responsible to support our manufacturing and quality related global procurement organization and worldwide activities from a legal perspective.

Besides the task at hand, the ability to define and develop this role and function from scratch, always in close cooperation with our global stakeholders in legal and purchasing, makes this position specifically interesting.

  • Serve as the global legal subject matter expert on the full range of legal procurement matters
  • Collaborate closely with our procurement organization to identify, address and advice on legal procurement-,manufacturing-
  • and quality related issues or concerns

  • Prepare, review and negotiate all relevant contracts for our global procurement organization
  • Support procurement processes from a legal perspective and co-create complex master agreements in interaction with local, regional and global levels
  • Review and ensure legal compliance with existing regulations, guidelines and standards; provide strategic legal advice concerning new legislative developments
  • Ensure legal compliance of organizational structure, processes and contracts within the manufacturing and quality related global procurement department
  • Synchronize contract design with our legal departments in North America, Asia-Pacific, EMEA and Latin America
  • Be the lead contact for external lawyers and consultants and provide general legal counseling regarding all fields of commercial law
  • Fully qualified lawyer, incl. above-average university degree
  • Multiple years of experience in a major international law firm and / or in-house legal department of an internationally operating and complex corporation, specializing in international procurement law
  • Ideally, experience in medical technology, pharmaceuticals or the broader healthcare sector
  • Strong knowledge of general commercial and procurement law as well as of adjacent legal areas, e.g. property law, warranty and liability law, REACH / RoHS, logistics law, etc.
  • Profound knowledge of relevant procurement processes with a focus on strategic and operative procurement, supply chain and logistics;
  • furthermore expertise in procurement, supplier management and manufacturing requirements

  • Ideally, first leadership experience, e.g. in a team or project lead role managing junior lawyers and outside counsels
  • Strong and effective communication and client relationship / management skills with the ability to influence through collaboration
  • Distinct and highly committed team-player
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment while continuing to provide highly responsive service
  • Fluent English language skills; additional languages, especially Chinese, are highly welcome

    This role requires a certain amount of international travel ( 50%) and can be based anywhere in Europe or Asia-Pacific.
