Job Description

General Manager will develop the agro testing business in Germany in a way that Eurofins becomes a trusted key player in this area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the local Business Unit activities through organic growth of at least 10% each year.
  • Design and implement the local, long-term strategy to grow the business and to challenge especially the competitive prices in the market and next to this development of on-site / on-field analytics.
  • Improve operations efficiency and meet the required turn-around-times of the local market and the international intercompany clients.
  • Increase the visibility of Eurofins within the agro testing business.
  • Make sure that cross-selling synergies with other Eurofins business units are being developed.
  • Take appropriate measures to improve economic profit.
  • Hire, motivate, develop and retain excellent employees.
  • Improve the technical and scientific aspects by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques, products, services and business processes (including several IT topics).
  • Prepare and propose annual budget and 3 years plan. Report on any deviations to deliver agreed upon results to his / her shareholders.
  • Develop and report on the Business Unit KPI’s.
  • Lead / take part in Group initiatives / assignments as agreed from time to time with his or her board.
  • In relation with your Business Line Director, identify, negotiate and manage the profitable integration of acquisitions in accordance with strategic goals and decisions / guidelines defined by the board.
  • Build strong relationships toward your key customers and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Guarantee and control that all relevant legal and Health & Safety requirements are being abided to, that the accreditations are being maintained and regularly expanded and that all employees act according to Eurofins values, especially work ethics and policies.
  • Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and staff.
  • Qualifications

    Approximately 10 years of professional experience. At least 3 years of these with full responsibility for P&L (of a business with at least 50 staff and sales >

    3 M€ / year) and proven financial success, preferably in the business services sector or in a small / mid-size company operating in a very competitive / low margin sector.
