The Department :

The Product & Analytics Group develops data-driven market intelligence services for our large global customer base in chemicals, energy and fertilizers.

We collect data and insight about our industries and enhance it with deep market understanding and Data Science tools to predict future market developments and help decision making.

To date, we have experience in operating up to a million of automated data jobs per day including a wide range of analytical models from statistical to machine learning, large scale optimisation and agent based models.

The Role :

Our Analytics Platform provides the scalable infrastructure for compute and storage, tooling and services to empower our Data Science and Analytics teams to deliver innovative analytical models that generate unique market insights.

It is the foundation for the development and operation of hundreds of data science / machine learning / operations research models and ETL processes, that process a constant stream of complex data sets.

You will be part of our centralised ICIS Data Science team which focuses on model innovation and supports our market centric analyst teams with efficiency and automation.

In this role you will support all ICIS Data Scientists and Quantitative Analysts to operate effectively within our Analytics Platform and continuously support to improve it.

Your work will allow the teams to focus on modelling, analytics and delivering customer value with a shorter time to market while simultaneously supporting stable model operations.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with system architects, software developers and site reliability engineers on our Analytics Platform to advance the developer experience and to improve operations throughout the whole analytics model lifecycle
  • Support the requirements engineering process with our Data Science and Quantitative Analyst teams
  • Train and support users with the infrastructure, tooling and systems for our data analytics (CI / CD pipelines, model versioning & dependency management, deployment, compute and data storage infrastructure, etc)
  • Continuously improve best practice with our global Data Science team and our Technology team on model infrastructure, our development approach, operational and software development standards
  • Test & evaluate new technologies with a view on developer experience and data analytics capabilities
  • Your Profile :

  • Hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Data Science
  • Experienced user of Python, Git, Docker, Linux, SQL
  • Relevant experience in model deployment and orchestration (knowledge of any of these tools is beneficial : Airflow, Prefect, Metaflow, Mlflow, Rundeck, K8s, Dask, Clery)
  • Nice to have : CI / CD Pipelines (Gitlab), Python dependency management and packaging (pip, poetry, virtual env), Jupyter, Dash, Flask, unit testing (Pytest), API-design, RDBMS, data warehousing tools (Snowflake), Kafka
  • Nice to have : Scrum (product owner), experience in requirements engineering
  • You are comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders, including data scientists, analysts, system architects and site reliability engineers
  • University degree in a quantitative science field
  • Openness to occasionally travel globally to meet international colleagues and customers
  • fluent in English (written and spoken)
