For this position we are looking for a professional experienced logistics expert, with competence and vision to support Global PGGI Business units to perform professionally the Global procurement and Logistics organization.
The Senior Heavy Lift & Projects Sourcing Specialist is responsible for assessing mainly Heavy Lift & Project related transportation market trends and to design and execute sourcing strategies that leverage the purchasing power of ABB Grid Integration on global level.
Enabling the business units to achieve respective performance targets for the Transportation & Logistics categories in scope.
The position holder will manage various cross-country category and procurement initiatives and ensures that regional category strategies are defined and implemented in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
Manage sourcing related activities for all Heavy Lift & Projects related inquiries (budgetary or firm) from various ABB PGGI Business Units in the assigned countries
Investigate transport feasibility for projects
Relationship Management - establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders in order to ensure engagement in all activities
Sourcing Strategy - leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base / suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
Supplier Qualification - work cross functionally with various teams for the on boarding and qualification audits of possible new heavy lift transport service providers
Supplier Agreements identify suitable Project Freight Forwarders within a pool of approved providers considering the geographical and operational scope of work, quality, cost, sustainability in line with company policies
Heavy Lift & Projects Sourcing Execution (RFI / RFQ) - prepare scope of work with all operational details for projects or more complex heavy lift material transports in line with business requirements
Evaluation evaluate Technical and Commercial proposals from Transport Service Providers and provides input with recommendation to ABB LBU in assigned country
Manages and conducts procurement activities for both budgetary and firm inquiries from various PGGI Business Units using ABB’s standard procurement tools
Minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and Company guidelines
Risk Management - in case of any insurance claims during a project period actively supports the claim process of ABB
Negotiation - negotiate Heavy Lift or Project transportation related Price Agreements, Transport Contracts as well as Terms & Conditions for operational execution
Contracts adapt corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Ensure that contract creation, execution and analysis are carried out for maximizing operational and financial performance and minimizing risk.
Ensure alignment to the existing Global Frame Agreements at all time
The role reports directly to the Global Business Unit Transport and Logistics Manager at Grid Integration
You are an outstanding analyst, taking decisions in a fact-based way ensuring that the best business opportunities are implemented.
You will also have a key role interacting with Grid Integration stakeholders in tender and project execution, sales team, general management levels in Business Unit / Division ABB organization.
You also like to set challenging goals and see them realized.

You are familiar to work in a large project environment close to the customer and have 5+ years of experience in advanced Transport and Logistics with a proven focus on Heavy Lifting experience.
You are fluent in English and have an academic degree in business or engineering.
