WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Medium Calibre Turret Lead Engineer (m / f / d) is a professional engineer with applied working knowledge of Systems Engineering, Lethality, Survivability, Weapon and Sighting systems.

This role will lead and guide a team of engineers and technical specialists. This key strategic position is a pivotal role focusing mainly on the successful delivery of infantry fighting vehicles (e.

g. Boxer CRV, Lynx) for our international projects.

  • Performing system level analysis to specify subsystem requirements to internal design team and subcontractors.
  • Performing system level trade-offs to determine optimal architectural design within system design constraints for the vehicle.
  • Developing interface requirement specifications between hull, turret, electrical, electronic architecture, weapon, sensor, and survivability subsystems.
  • Planning, specifying, performing and reporting turret system level testing for performance and safety.
  • Applied, working knowledge of mechanical and logical interfaces of the Turret subsystem into the broader system design.
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers, including subject matter experts in FEA, operating environment, EMC, human factors, safety, environmental, and regulatory.
  • Assume responsibility for overall tower performance and ensure key performance requirements (PHit, Protection, DRI) are met through analysis and test.
  • Ability to plan and implement a tower development program, including identifying key risks, issues, and developing remedies, as well as managing budgets and schedules and leading milestone reviews and conducting regular internal and customer working groups.

    The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes :

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • 10 15 years of significant experience in Systems Engineering, Lethality, Survivability, Weapon and Sighting systems.
  • Specific technical domain knowledge of turret system design within the end to end lethality performance chain.
  • Ability to use requirements management software (DOORS).
  • Previous Defence Industry experience in delivering complex platforms / systems is beneficial.
  • Be eligible for Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening.
