Pseudonymization and Anonymization Services are an internal suite of software products that enables Zalando’s internal Software Engineers and Data Engineers to protect personal data of millions of Zalando customers at rest, in use, and in transit.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building the purpose, vision, and roadmap for strengthening the state of personal data protection at Zalando using pseudonymization and anonymization techniques.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Developing Expertise in the domain of pseudonymization and anonymization
Interviewing internal customers and stakeholders to understand the reality of the state of personal data processing and merging the collected details with the privacy technology domain learnings to build the purpose, vision, and roadmap for creating privacy software services
Driving alignment between Information Security and Data Platform Leadership to gain sponsorship for the roadmap and then building / leading a cross functional team to create privacy software services which integrate well with Zalando’s Data Platform enabling a seamless journey for internal Software Engineers and Data Engineers
Enabling the Distributed Security Experts by providing required documentation, demos, and training to roll out the privacy software services created by the team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Strong capability to research, self-learn, and develop deep expertise in the area of pseudonymization, anonymization, k-anonymization, generalization, l-diversity, etc
A working backwards approach to problem solving starting with the benefits that the solution will bring to the internal customers instead of building solutions which are based on wishful thinking
Proven ability to listen, interpret, and incorporate feedback (clear and vague) from colleagues and senior leaders on the purpose, vision, roadmap, and software solution designs
Strong technical and people leadership skills and ability to build high-performance teams
At least 2+ years of experience of leading teams and years of experience in building software solutions which process data at large scale in both microservices and data pipelines using skills in some of the following or their alternatives : Spark, AWS EMR / Databricks, Kubernetes, Go Lang, Scala, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS S3, Kafka, AWS Kinesis, REST APIs
