We are looking for an agile Senior Manager Strategic Marketing to join our pipeline marketing team to cover development assets primarily in the exciting new field of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and possibly also asset(s) in NASH (Non-Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis) or obesity.
In this role within the Corporate Therapeutic Area Cardiology / Metabolism / Respiratory (TA CMR) you will drive commercial leadership for a designated span of assets and indications and will lead the strategic marketing through development stages from pre-start of development to late stage development for handover to launch preparation teams.
This role will report into the Global Head of Marketing TA CMR / Established Products and Pipeline.
Our CKD pipeline assets build on BI’s aspired entry into CKD with empagliflozin and is an indication area with tremendous unmet need of our patients.
Despite other medications now reaching the market for CKD, it is still a nascent area with upcoming therapies still leaving very meaningful unmet need.
Thus, with limited in market precedence to date, a marketer will have little competitive precedence to learn from. Agile thinking and comfort in working in unchartered waters will be key in this nascent area.

Tasks & Responsibilities
The Senior Manager Strategic Marketing for CKD, within the corporate Therapeutic Area Cardiology / Metabolism / Respiratory (TA CMR) will directly drive and lead marketing activities across development stages of designated assets.
The Senior Manager Strategic Marketing for CKD represents a very visible, and key Marketing role, with personal representation of commercial asset assessments and strategies up to higher BI committees, with C-level chairpersons.
Activities include, but are not limited to : Patient, customer and competitive insight development, e.g. stakeholder mapping, patient and therapeutic flow assessments, competitive positioning assessments, patient flow assessments, advisory board preparation, co-leading primary research efforts with insights managers, etc.
Product positioning, e.g. target product profile shaping, evidence plan development, Product strategy planning, e.g. shaping of desire patient flow in an area without therapeutic precedence, go-to-market modeling, shaping of patient advocacy strategy, forecasting, early brand planning, etc.
Activities include, but are not limited to supporting regular updates of BI’s indication strategy for CKD, implementing respective strategic initiatives.
Ensure designated single asset strategies are aligned with the overarching CKD indication / portfolio strategy, and that the strategies also ensure the commercial leadership aspired by the overarching indication strategy.
Represent commercial views and drive commercial decisions on multiple project teams for respectively assigned assets.
