Possess a minimum of 6 months of Orthodox Christian RE leadership experience, preferably directing an Orthodox Christian RE program in an Orthodox Church or military chapel setting.
Provided documented evidence of the following : completion of Orthodox Christian studies or Orthodox Christian teacher training program (archdiocesan / metropolis, diocesan, or local parish level).
Possess and demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to the culture, doctrine, theology, teachings, traditions and liturgical practices of the Orthodox Christian faith.
Budget : Must understand the basics of planning, developing, and executing a budget.
Must have a High School diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Certificate, or compulsory education equivalency.
Shall read / comprehend, write, and speak English fluently.
Possess at least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office functions.
Ensure the program conforms to the teachings of the Orthodox Christian Church and directives of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America (Formerly known as SCOBA).
Be responsible for maintaining the Chapel Orthodox Christian RE Program for the appropriate groups (children and youth Sunday School) spiritually, sacramentally and didactically.
Coordinate and arrange effective advertisements of RE programs and events.
Submit the Records of Baptisms, Chrismations, Weddings, Funerals and Sacraments to the Chaplain and to the Archdiocese.
Assist the Chaplain in developing the following in regards to RE Coordinator programs as appropriate : annual calendar of events, Chapel tithes and offerings fund budget, appropriated fund budget, and core volunteer training requirements.
Coordinate with the Chaplain and chapel volunteers to create effective RE programs for the Orthodox Christian faith group.
Ensure recruiting, training, and managing of volunteers for the RE programs.
Provide and maintain an adequate level of supplies and inventory of consumable materials, RE resources, and equipment. A report shall be submitted to the Chaplain or designee, as requested.
Maintain attendance records of number of participants and volunteers and inform the Orthodox Chaplain.
