Join a team of scientists and engineers developing small size prototypes of highly sensitive electro-optical quantum magnetometers utilizing NV color centers in diamond.
Your work is embedded in several national and European publicly funded projects with leading, internationally renowned scientists in the field of quantum sensors.
You will directly contribute to the development of a novel human machine interface (HMI) deducing user intent from magnetic brain signals.
You perform optical simulations of photonic structures and the optical path from light source to detector.
Help us to optimize photonic structures with respect to several design parameters, such as light conversion efficiency or footprint.
Gain experience in the field of conception and validation of quantum sensing devices for future products and create novel measurement protocols for signal optimization.
You consider model-based aspects (e.g., thermal) of photonic integration and micro assembly and implement as well as experimentally validate the most promising photonic integration concept in a prototype.
Education : Master’s degree in microsystems or electrical engineering, optoelectronics, photonics, physics or similar with excellent grades
Personality : innovative, motivated, communicative, curious, and hands-on spirit
Working Practice : structured, result-oriented, creative, and independent in designing and executing experiments
Experience and Knowledge : detailed knowledge in classical MEMS and Optoelectronics, with focus on micro-optical design and photonic integration, modelling of photonic structures for quantum sensing and (optical) signal processing, experience in quantum physics and quantum optics combined with practical experience in ODMR in diamond, as well as experience with optical simulations and clean room processes are beneficial
Languages : fluent in English (written and spoken), German is beneficial
