Job Summary : This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at CSA Group. A Laboratory Technician (m / f / d) Gas Controls is required to join our team to work on the testing and certification of Gas Controls and related equipment.
This role will be based in our upcoming state of the art new facility in Straßkirchen near Straubing, Germany. As part of the laboratory technician team, you will have the opportunity to test new and emerging products for safety before they hit the market.
Reporting to the Product Group Manager / Team Lead, you will be involved in a world-class organization dedicated to creating a better, safer, and more sustainable world.
Responsibilities : The Technician conducts a wide range of test procedures on sample equipment to the applicable standards and interprets results of the test.
The Technician assembles and disassembles test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing; operates most laboratory test equipment without supervision.
Relates test results to product specifications. Acts as a liaison with other departments as required by the manager. Notes and records substandard features of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to Product Group Manager, Lab Manager or Certifier.
Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties and preventive maintenance.
Maintains and initiates direct client contact to provide and ask for information. Provides ongoing feedback to Manager and Certifier regarding suggested modifications to experimental apparatus and / or equipment being developed.
May make field trips and assist in work outside the laboratories as required. Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Processes paperwork jobs from opening to distribution where no engineering is involved (i.e. alternative construction, change of records and multiple listings) if required.
Education & Experience : Technical Certificate or equivalent education and experience; or Associates degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Technology, HVAC or related 5-8 years of professional experience in a comparable function.
