Description

The Head of Segment is responsible for developing and deploying the segment's strategy. The owner of this position leads and directs all activities of the segment.

The owner represents the interests of the Segment and the Business Unit and reports directly to the Head of BU.

Segment Management and Entrepreneurial Responsibility :

  • Ownership of strategy, budget, and project planning and execution
  • Directing the segment to achieve budgeted profitability and other planned financial and non-financial results and to preserve and improve the ROCE in the segment
  • Ensuring the achievement of the worldwide targets with regard to profit and quality
  • Initiation and tracking of measures to identify and adjust deviations
  • Initiation of measures for the continuous improvement of processes
  • Taking necessary actions to protect and enhance the company's investments in subsidiaries
  • Ensuring that all operations are performed in compliance with relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Strategy Development :

  • Directing the development and preparation of both tactical and strategical plans and budgets based upon the Business Unit goals and growth objectives
  • Supporting the Head of BU on any kind of strategic questions and topics
  • Leadership :

  • Coordinating functions like R&D, purchasing, production, logistics, sales and controlling by leading people, projects and business and making decisions to the business objectives of the BU
  • Ensuring adequate management development practices and processes in order to provide capable management successors
  • Taking appropriate steps to develop the locations and corrects unsatisfactory conditions
  • Quality :

  • Safeguarding committed standards of quality guidelines (internal and external), quality awareness, customer quality targets and observes customer care commitments
  • Qualifications

  • Academic Degree in technical, science or business studies
  • Long term of professional experience in General Management
  • Several years of experience in international Automotive environment
  • Experience in Business Development or Project Management (major projects), preferably in a matrix organization
  • Exposure in international project work, several years of working experience abroad
  • Quality and / or manufacturing experience would be beneficial
  • Leading teams and leaders at different international locations for several years in a collaborative project environment
  • Business fluent English language skills written and spoken
  • Good German language skills written and spoken would be beneficial
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 50%)
