The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a
Full Professorship for Theoretical Chemistry’ (W3)
from as soon as possible.
The applicants should be internationally recognized for research on a topical area of computational / theoretical chemistry that complements the existing research directions of the department and other institutions at the research site.
The future holder of the position should be able to teach Theoretical Chemistry in the broadest and most comprehensive sense in all bachelor and master courses.
Based on strong methodological competence in the area of electronic structure methods, research should be aiming at applications in the area of functional systems.
The successful applicant is expected to provide atomic-scale insights in the properties of compounds on various length scales -
ranging from molecules and aggregates to large chemical systems - and to have an impact on its development.
The ability to interact with experimental groups should be visible and interest in cooperation with different institutions at Adlershof, but also in the larger Berlin area is a prerequisite.
This concerns in particular structured funding schemes, like collaborative research centres in Berlin and other research consortia, for instance in the field of catalysis.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with 100 of the Berliner Hochschulgesetz .
